Panthers host their annual Military Appreciation Night this week

South Florida Sun Sentinel - 1/24/2022

The Florida Panthers will be welcoming more than 500 active and retired military veterans to their annual Military Appreciation Night on Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7 p.m.

Continuing their tradition of commemorating military personnel, the Panthers will be honoring 93-year-old World War II and Korean War veteran, Platoon Sergeant John Moran, as part of the team’s “Heroes Among Us” program. The Panthers’ program has honored over 350 military members to date.

Military personnel can receive complimentary Panthers’ tickets by visiting vetitx.org.

During warmups, Panthers players will be sporting exclusive military-themed jerseys, which will be available for purchase at the “Inside the Boards” store. Pantherland and the FLA Team Shop will also have team merchandise on sale, including hats, shirts and other various items.

Fans can show their appreciation to military members by writing letters to troops overseas before the game at a table on the JetBlue Tarmac at FLA Live Arena.

In addition, attendees can support military veterans by donating items to the Florida Panthers Foundation Baby Product Drive.

From 5 to 7:15 p.m., individuals help benefit 22 expectant military members and additional military families across South Florida through partnerships with Soldiers’ Angels and the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.

The items suggested for donation include diaper bags, baby bather, baby bathing items, pacifiers, blankets, transition cups, baby bowls, baby bottles, baby towels, teething rings and first aid kits.
