CUSTOM ADAPTATION PURPOSE: To provide a customized step block to provide stability, and allow a person with cerebral palsy to step up unaided. Twenty millimeter (mm) steel tubing is used to form a U-shaped frame that goes around the three sides of the step block. The frame has four uprights that descend to each of the four corners of the step. Holes are drilled into the corners of the step block, and the frame is fitted with metal saddles which are bolted through the underside. The frame is painted to match the step block and spring-loaded castors, similar to those used in library stools, were added for stability when the step block is stood upon.
