CareerScope is a computerized aptitude test and interest inventory designed for use by individuals with low vision or learning or cognitive disabilities. Careerscope with Audio includes a friendly voice that slowly reads the login, orientation, instructions, practice items, and the Interest Inventory Items. For evaluees with reading disabilities, Numerical Reasoning and Word Meanings can be administered as untimed assessments, providing as much time as needed to finish the two tasks that emphasize reading comprehension. This assessment is also available as CareerScope English with Spanish and presents the Interest Inventory, Numerical Reasoning and Word Meanings items in Spanish. This feature assists evaluees whose Spanish language skills exceed their English language skills. The Interest inventory helps to target key areas of interest, measuring and identifying a user's attraction to careers that correspond to the U.S. Department of Labor's Interest Areas. These areas are: Artistic, Plants/Animals, Mechanical, Business Detail, Accommodating, Lead/Influence, Scientific, Protective, Industrial, Selling, Humanitarian, and Physical Performing. The results from the Interest Inventory are compiled into a comprehensive Individual Profile Analysis (IPA). The IPA objectively identifies each evaluee's most significant interest area preferences.
The aptitudes measured by CareerScope are the most critical for today's high-growth and high replacement rate occupations, as well as for the emerging careers of the 21st century. The aptitudes measured are: General Learning Ability,
Verbal Aptitude, Numerical Aptitude, Spatial Aptitude, Form Perception, and Clerical Perception. The program can also incorporate physical performance scores, including motor coordination, finger dexterity, and manual dexterity. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers.
